Respiratory Wellness Monitoring Application records the respiratory sound signal (Cough sound) using an acoustic sensor (Microphone) and also collects user input data comprising information related to symptoms from a user interface of the application. Based on the sound characteristics and symptoms data the application assigns a risk category associated with respiratory sound signal. Cough is the most common and primary symptom for several respiratory diseases, it carries vital information on the state of the respiratory system. RWMA helps in early screening of Chronic Respiratory Diseases, and also in monitoring treatment efficacy.
RWMA can be used by (a) an individual for self management of care (b) medical practitioners for conducting early screening for patients. The application also supports labeling of sound records by medical practitioners to help us in creating labeled data to improve accuracy of our predictions.
